Indigo Shire Grant Programs
Indigo Shire Council offers a range of grant programs to support community projects, events, sustainability initiatives and active living across the 2026/27 grant period. These grants help bring local ideas to life, strengthen community connections and enhance wellbeing across the Shire.
We are excited to announce that the 2026/27 grant round will officially open on Wednesday 1 July 2026. Grant guidelines will be released following Council endorsement on this date, with drop-in sessions to be announced shortly.
Explore the programs below and find the right opportunity for your project.
Community Grants
Community Grants support projects that strengthen connection, inclusion and wellbeing across Indigo Shire. Designed for local groups and not-for-profit organisations, this program helps bring community ideas to life.
Funding can be used for a wide range of initiatives, including programs, events, equipment purchases, small infrastructure upgrades and activities that support arts, youth, health and social outcomes. These grants are ideal for projects that create meaningful local impact and bring people together.
Community Sustainability Grants
Community Sustainability Grants support projects that protect and enhance the natural environment while building community resilience to climate change.
Funding is available for initiatives such as renewable energy projects, environmental restoration, waste reduction, water conservation and community education. This program is ideal for groups looking to create lasting environmental benefits while contributing to a more sustainable future for Indigo Shire.
Event Grants
Event Grants support the delivery and growth of events that activate our towns, celebrate local culture and bring communities together. From small community gatherings to larger regional events, this program helps create vibrant and engaging experiences across the Shire.
Funding can assist with event delivery costs such as infrastructure, marketing, entertainment and accessibility improvements. The program encourages events that attract visitors, showcase the region and foster strong community participation.
Get Active Indigo Grants
Get Active Indigo Grants supports programs and initiatives that encourage people of all ages and abilities to be physically active and socially connected.
Grants can be used for activities such as come-and-try sessions, new programs, equipment and inclusive participation initiatives. This program focuses on reducing barriers to participation and creating more opportunities for people to get involved in sport, recreation and active living.
Indigo Seniors Festival Grants
Indigo Seniors Festival Grants support events and activities that celebrate, connect and engage older residents across the Shire, as part of the Victorian Seniors Festival delivered annually in October.
Funding helps deliver inclusive and accessible activities that recognise the valuable contributions of seniors while promoting social connection, wellbeing and lifelong participation in community life.
