Draft Transportation Plan

We sought feedback to help us develop a Transportation Plan to help guide future investment in transport infrastructure across the Shire, centred around the four main townships of Beechworth, Rutherglen, Yackandandah and Chiltern.

To ensure the plan addresses the needs of each community, input was sought specifically to hep us better understand locations or areas of concern that, if investigated and funded, would provide a benefit to the community.

The draft plan will consider the availability and existing conditions of:

• Road infrastructure and key intersections
• Key signage, wayfinding and traffic management systems in use
• Public and sustainable transport
• Land use development connections to the main historical and commercial precincts
• Car parking distribution, patterns and locations
• Pedestrian and cyclist accessibility, routes, footpaths, shared paths and trails

To provide input into the draft plan, we asked community members to rate their level of satisfaction against the key themes of:

• General Traffic
• Car Parking
• Public Transport
• Walking
• Cycling

Participants were also invited to use the map and drop a pin on areas that are of most concern to the community community.

Have your Say - Face-to-Face

Drop-in sessions were held on the weekend of 18 and 19 May in the following locations. This was an opportunity to meet with our consultant face to face and share feedback on the draft plan.

• Yackandandah Public Hall - 2pm Saturday 18 May
• Chiltern Memorial Hall - 11am Sunday 19 May
• Rutherglen Library - 2pm Sunday 19 May
