About this project
We upgraded the Chiltern Tennis Courts to Tennis Victoria standards, with new surfaces on Courts one and two. We also installed new LED lighting, fencing and run offs.
Why was this project undertaken and how was it funded?
The upgrade was funded through Sport and Recreation Victoria’s 2022 Local Sport Infrastructure Fund Community Facilities Stream, with contributions from Council and the Chiltern Tennis Club. The facilities have been brought up to Tennis Victoria standards for competition to encourage more participation by offering safer and improved playing conditions.

The new courts are really beginning to take shape, with the concrete now poured for the light pole fittings, the tennis net foundations and the main slab for the courts.
The concrete will cure over the next month and fencing and tidying works will begin after Easter, followed by the application of the new acrylic surface.

We've made some good progress this week, with the crushed rock pavement base layer for the new courts applied on Thursday.
Drainage works at the site are also well advanced and expected to be complete this week.
