About this project
We constructed a new playground at the Chiltern Community Hub Kindergarten and Long Day Care centre.
Why was this project undertaken?
This project responded to the increased need for a playground that provides a range of integrated and innovative early childhood learning environments following an increase in enrolments at this centre.
How was this project funded?
The project was funded by the Victorian Department of Education and a Council contribution.

Site works commenced mid-January 2025, with construction completed in February 2025.

Only the mud kitchen remains to be installed and there are some minor fencing adjustments to be completed.
After watching the playground develop for a few weeks, the children now have their bikes out and have taken possession.
They are also watering the grass area and have started planting in the raised veggie garden beds.

The new fence is finished, and the new tiered sand pit, bike track and raised vegetable garden beds have also been installed.
Shade sails and further play elements are still to come.

Works are expected to be completed within the next few weeks.
