The Wahgunyah Recreation Reserve will benefit from an oval lighting upgrade designed to improve safety, access and participation in local sport and recreation. The project will deliver new energy‑efficient LED lighting that meets Australian Standards and AFL Preferred Facility Guidelines for local‑level training.

Why is this project being undertaken?

Upgrading the oval lighting will ensure the reserve provides a consistent and compliant lighting system that supports evening and twilight training. The improvements will help local sporting clubs increase participation opportunities, reduce operational costs and enhance community use of the reserve well into the future.

What works will be delivered?

The project scope includes:

  • Upgrading existing lighting to achieve compliant 50 LUX oval lighting

  • Retaining the existing concrete light poles

  • Removing existing luminaires

  • Installing new LED lights

How is it being funded?

This project is supported through the 25/26 Country Football and Netball Program and Indigo Shire Council.
