About this project

We're constructing a 700m concrete footpath on Traton Street, Wahgunyah from the Blanche Street intersection to the Morley Drive intersection.

Why is this project being undertaken?

This project will improve pedestrian connectivity from Wahgunyah Heights Estate and Traton Street to town and in linking to the recreational Murray River trail network.

This project meets the strategic objective 2.5.2 of the Council Plan 2021-2025, Upgrade and expand the Shire's footpath and cycle path network.

How is it being funded?

This project is being funded through Council's Capital Works 2022-23 program carried forward for delivery in 2023-24.

What is happening and when?

Construction is scheduled to begin in late August 2023 with the project completion date early October.

No road closures will be required however there may be some road traffic management in place at times depending upon work activity.

    Works to construct this 700m concrete footpath along Traton Street, Wahgunyah commenced last week and are currently on track for completion in early October.
