We're constructing new toilet facilities at the Tangambalanga Active Park.

Project background

The Tangambalanga Active Park is a highly valued community facility which provides a place for recreation, physical activity and community connection.

In 2020, Council adopted the Tangambalanga Active Park master plan to meet the needs of a growing residential community. Subsequently, the Tangambalanga Active Park has recently seen further improvements including a new pump track and upgrades to the existing playground. Furthermore, work is currently underway to install a new shade shelter, barbeque and additional park furniture.

The inclusion of these new elements has seen an uptake in park usage, and community feedback has consistently identified the need for a public toilet, which aligns with the master plan vision and Council’s draft public toilet strategy.

What is happening and when?

We're constructing new public toilet facilities at Tangambalanga Active Park, as well as new concrete paths within the park to improve pedestrian connectivity and accessibility to facilities.

The contract to design and construct the facilities was awarded in late March 2025. Structural drawings are currently being prepared. Onsite works are likely to take about three months, with an approximate start date in September, which will allow time to obtain a building permit and fabricate the modular building.

There will be limited access to the playground and community garden while works are underway.
