Have your say: Summer transfer station hours
We're considering permanent summer operating hours for our two waste transfer stations (Beechworth and Rutherglen) to keep everyone safer during extreme heat.
The proposal:
- Summer hours (1 December – 31 March): 9am–1pm
- Rest of year (1 April – 30 November): Current afternoon hours 1pm-5pm
Why we're considering this:
- Less likelihood of heat-related closures
- Safer for staff working outdoors in extreme heat
- Cooler conditions for you to drop off waste
