Consultation has concluded
Rutherglen Recreation Reserve has been identified as a significant recreational asset for Indigo Shire. we have allocated funding in 2023-24 to develop a master plan for the reserve based on the significant amount of volunteer time being invested to support the community site, and the diversity of groups utilising the site.
The master planning process
The development of the master plans involves:
Undertaking a brief analysis of the site’s catchment area and identifying existing and future trends that may impact upon the growth or decline of specific recreation activities, including sustainability of user clubs
Identifying development priorities for the future planning, development and/or upgrade of existing and/or new recreation facilities within the Reserve in response to identified needs
Developing a masterplan which links to existing plans and strategies, and is responsive to community expectations, as well as being achievable, realistic and attainable within Council’s budgetary framework
What did we find out?
We had 28 responses to our survey, with 96% of respondents supportive of the overall proposed plans.
What happens next?
The feedback received from the community will now be assessed and collated into a revised draft master plan, with a report due to council later in the year.
