Planning Scheme Review - Amendment
Overview
The proposed amendment (C79indi) seeks to implement the recommendations of the Indigo Planning Scheme Review, December 2023 and fix anomalies in mapping and ordinance. These changes fix formatting and grammatical errors, remove repetitive content, move content to more relevant sections, improve clarity and better align with the Ministerial Direction on the Form and Content of Planning Schemes.
Why is the amendment required?
Indigo Shire Council is required to complete a Planning Scheme Review every four years under Section 12B of the Planning and Environment Act 1987 (the Act). The most recent Planning Scheme Review was completed at the end of 2023 and was submitted to the Minister for Planning in early 2024.
The proposed amendment is required to implement the recommendations of the Indigo Planning Scheme Review, December 2023 (the PSR) that are generally policy neutral. The recommendations of the PSR largely relate to administrative changes to align with the Ministerial Direction on the Form and Content of Planning Schemes.
The proposed amendment also seeks to fix identified anomalies and errors in mapping and ordinance.
