The Chiltern Recreation Reserve will benefit from a major oval lighting upgrade designed to improve safety, access and participation in local sport and recreation. The project will deliver new lighting infrastructure that meets AFL Facility Guidelines for local‑level training, achieving a 100 LUX lighting level across the oval.

Why is this project being undertaken?

Upgrading the oval lighting will ensure the reserve provides a modern, compliant and reliable lighting system that supports evening and twilight training. The improvements will enhance the quality of the facility, support local sporting clubs and increase opportunities for community participation in sport and recreation.

What works will be delivered?

The project scope includes:

  • Removal of outdated lighting infrastructure
  • Installation of four new steel floodlight poles
  • Upgrade of cabling and power supply infrastructure

How is it being funded?

This project is supported through the 25/26 Country Football and Netball Program and Indigo Shire Council.
