Council is proposing a change to the planning rules for the Beechworth Railway Precinct, the site that includes the old Railway Station building, the Goods Shed, and the surrounding land.
The change (known as Amendment C80indi) would allow the site to be used for tourism and business activities, alongside its current use, in line with the Beechworth Railway Precinct Land Management Plan from 2019.

How to make a submission
Anyone can make a submission about this amendment. Your submission needs to be in writing and include:
your name and contact address
whether you support or oppose the amendment and why
any changes you'd like to see made
Submissions close 31 August 2026 and can be emailed to info@indigoshire.vic.gov.au or hand delivered to one of our customer service centres or posted to PO Box 28, Beechworth VIC 3747.
Once received, submissions are made available for anyone to view, either at Council's office or on our website, for two months after the amendment takes effect or lapses.
